VALENTINE, Neb. - The Nebraska men's golf team currently sits in 11th place with a team score of 285 following the first round of the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Dunes Course at Prairie Club. Action at the 7,726-yard par-72 course will continue Monday with the second of three rounds.
Santa Clara leads the field of competition with a score of 265, followed by Kansas in second with a score of 275, Tennessee (276) in third, Boise State (278) in fourth, and Houston (279) in fifth.
Tanner Owen leads the Huskers with a first round score of 69. The sophomore is tied for 13th overall heading into the second day of competition.
Jackson Wendling golfed for a score of 71 and is tied for 34th. Jace Guthmiller (72) is tied for 43rd, Cameron Jones (73) is tied for 56th and Daniel Pearson (77) is tied for 76th.
Nebraska will begin the second round of the invitational on Monday.
