Griffith Takes Fifth in Long Jump at USATF Juniors

Nebraska track and field long jumper Isaiah Griffith placed fifth in the event at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, California on Friday evening. Griffith posted a jump of 24-1 (7.34m) on his first attempt to earn fifth place. 

Two other Huskers competed on Friday. Raynesha Lewis was 13th in the long jump at 18-3 (5.56m). Kierra Griggs finished 14th in the 400 meters with a time of 55.04. 

On Saturday, Cody Walton will compete in the javelin at the USATF Senior Outdoor Championships at 1:30 p.m. (CT). Griffith will compete again in the junior meet in the triple jump at 5:50 p.m., and Sydney Otto will throw the javelin at 7:10 p.m.
