Q&A with Catelyn Orel

Following a strong start to her Husker career in 2016, Catelyn Orel suffered an Achilles injury in preseason training that kept her out of competition in 2017. In 2016, Orel saw action on all four events and in the all-around.

Orel has been a stand out in the classroom and the community, as she was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in each of her first three semesters. She was NU's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2017, and she has earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her work in the community in both of her first two seasons.

Catelyn took a few minutes from her challenging academic and athletic schedule to answer some questions and give us a little insight into her life outside the gym.
