Nebraska Divers at Jean K. Freeman Invitational
Date: Dec. 2-3
Location: Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center, Minneapolis, Minn.
Time: 10 a.m. (Prelims) / 6 p.m. (Finals)
The Nebraska divers travel to Minneapolis for competition at the Jean K. Freeman Invitational, Friday and Saturday. Prelims begin each day at 10 a.m., with finals at 6 p.m. For live stats, please click the attached link.
All-American Anna Filipcic (one meter) and freshman Abigail Knapton (platform) are coming off of runner-up finishes at the Mizzou Invitational in Columbia, Mo., Nov. 17-19. Filipcic, a senior from Omaha, leads the Huskers into this weekend’s invite with two NCAA Zone qualifying dives in the one- and three-meter events. Knapton, a freshman from Omaha, enters the invite with NCAA Zone qualifying dives in all three dives. Sophomore Katrina Voge qualified for NCAA Zone dives in the one meter against Northern Iowa.
Following this weekend’s diving action, the Huskers will take time off from competition until Saturday, Jan. 14, when they take on the Omaha Mavericks on Senior Day at the Devaney Natatorium.
Last Time Out: Filipcic, Knapton Earn Runner-up Finishes at Mizzou
All-American Anna Filipcic (one meter) and freshman Abigail Knapton (platform) captured runner-up finishes to lead a solid set of performances by Nebraska divers at the Mizzou Invitational in Columbia, Mo., Nov. 17-19.
Filipcic, a senior from Omaha, Neb., opened the meet with a second-place finish on the one-meter board on day one. She produced a final score of 308.15, just 2.60 points behind Missouri's Lauren Reedy (310.75).
Filipcic added a third-place finish on the three-meter board with a score of 317.65 on the second day of competition. Reedy again captured the individual title (352.20), while LSU's Elizabeth Cui claimed a runner-up finish (350.70). In prelims, Filipcic put up a score of 333.35. Nebraska's Katrina Voge added an 11th-place effort in the event with a 272.25 in finals and 275.30 in prelims.
The Huskers closed the invitational with a runner-up finish from Abigail Knapton on the platform. The freshman from Omaha put up a score of 240.05 to qualify her for NCAA Zones. Knapton has qualified for the zone meet in all three diving events. Voge added another 11th-place showing on the platform (215.55).
