For the first time this season, the Nebraska swimming and diving team is ranked among the top 50 programs in the nation by the CollegeSwimming.com.
Head Coach Pablo Morales and the Huskers, who finished 39th at the 2016 NCAA Championships, have to continued the resurgence of the women's program by racing to a 4-0 dual record to open the 2016-17 season. The Huskers are coming off a 198-101 dual win over Kansas, which marked Nebraska's first dual win in more than a decade over their former Big Eight and Big 12 Conference rivals.
Senior Erin Oeltjen and sophomore Dana Posthuma will represent the Big Red alongside Big Ten swimmers in the USA College Challenge in Indianapolis, Ind., this weekend.
Freshman Tori Beeler is producing an eye-opening start to her collegiate career by putting up top-20 Big Ten times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
In addition to several swimmers raising the bar for the Huskers in the pool, All-American Anna Filipcic continues to set the standard for Nebraska divers to come in the well. The All-American from Omaha has produced record-breaking performances in both the one-meter dive and the three-meter dives the past two weeks. Already a three-time Big Ten Diver of the Week in 2016-17, Filipcic notched a school-record 372.30 in the three-meter dive in the win over Kansas. Her score against the Jayhawks would have been good for second at the 2016 NCAA Championships.
