Huskers Lead Big Ten with No. 17 RPI Ranking

The Nebraska soccer team (11-5-4) received the No. 17 ranking in this week’s RPI, released by the NCAA on Monday, which marks the best ranking by a Big Ten team.

The Huskers own four wins over top-30 opponents, including RPI No. 7 BYU. NU also defeated No. 20 Kansas, No. 26 Marquette and No. 27 Ohio State. The Huskers also have ties against No. 35 Wisconsin, No. 24 Northwestern (twice) and No. 25 Rutgers.

All five of Nebraska’s losses are against top-64 teams. NU fell to No. 6 Clemson, No. 22 Minnesota, No. 28 Penn State, No. 44 Michigan and No. 64 Oregon.

The Huskers were eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament on Sunday by penalty kicks, but will find out their NCAA Tournament fate during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, Nov. 7 at 3:30 p.m. (CT) on NCAA.com.
