Judd, Smith Notch Top 10 Finishes in Colorado

Highlands Ranch, Colo. - The Nebraska women's golf team fired its best round of the season with an even-par 288 to finish with a season-tournament-best 876 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Kate Smith notched her third consecutive top-10 finish, carding a two-under-par 70 in the final round to tie for seventh with a career-best 54-hole score of 215. It marked the fourth straight top-15 finish for the freshman from Detroit Lakes, Minn., to open her collegiate career.

Junior Audrey Judd matched Smith stroke for stroke in the tournament, notching a one-under-par 71 in the final round to tie Smith for seventh at 215. It marked the best tournament finish and three-round score of Judd's career as well.

Emily Gillman matched her career best with an even-par 72 in the final round. It marked the second time in three rounds on the 6,450-yard layout of the Highlands Ranch Golf Club that the junior from Austin, Texas, made par. Gillman produced the first top-25 finish of her collegiate career with a tie for 23rd with a career-best three-round total of 219.

Sarah Pravecek, a senior from Omaha, rounded out Nebraska's team score on the day with a three-over-par 75. Pravecek closed the tournament in a tie for 57th at 227.

Despite shooting their best round of the season, the Huskers slipped three spots to sixth in the 18-team field at Highlands Ranch.

Pepperdine claimed the team title with a three-round score of 854, four strokes ahead of the hosts from runner-up Denver at 858. Kentucky jumped ahead of the Huskers into third at 871 with the tournament's best round on Sunday (277). Georgetown finished fourth at 874 with a 285 in the third round, while Colorado State took fifth just one stroke ahead of the Huskers at 875 after a final-round 281.

Denver's Sophie Newlove claimed medalist honors with a six-under-par 210 over 54 holes. Pepperdine's Hira Naveed finished as the individual runner-up with a 212 over three rounds.

In addition to the solid rounds from the Huskers in the lineup on Sunday, Annie Sritragul carded a one-under-par 71 in the final round. The freshman from Bangkok, Thailand, struggled in the first two rounds but finished in a tie for 84th at 234 in the 102-player field.

Nebraska will close its fall season at the UNLV Collegiate Shootout in Boulder City, Nev., Oct. 23-25.
