Huskers Defend Devaney at the Annual Alumni Meet

Lincoln, Neb.---The Nebraska swimming and diving team returns to the pool to host the 13th Annual Alumni Meet. The Huskers, who are expected to welcome 13 returning alumni to the Devaney Natatorium, have defeated the Alumni in back-to-back seasons.
Current Huskers Morgan McCafferty and Jordan Ehly earned victories against the Alumni in 2015. McCafferty captured the 100-yard backstroke, while Ehly swam to a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Former swimmers Bria Deveaux and Katie Ditter hit the pool as alumni this season, after competing for the Huskers last season. Deveaux finished her senior season with 18 top-five finishes, including five second-place showings. Ditter captured 14 top-five finishes with a majority of those coming in the 100-yard breaststroke. Both Deveaux and Ditter are helping the Huskers as student assistants in 2016-17. 

Following the Alumni Meet, Nebraska will officially kick off its season by taking on both Iowa State and South Dakota State in the upcoming weeks. On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Huskers will travel to Ames, Iowa to take on Iowa State for Nebraska’s first road meet of the season. The Big Red battle South Dakota State in Brookings on Oct. 14, before Nebraska opens its home schedule at the Devaney Natatorium against Northern Iowa on Friday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.
