For more than 20,000 Nebraska football fans, Saturday Night Live in Evanston, Ill., had to seem like old times. It was truly a night to remember despite watching two touchdowns evaporate in the Huskers' 24-13 win over Northwestern.
Advancing to a No. 15 national ranking, Nebraska fans had a fun time visiting Chicago, which has become the Huskers' kind of town. Why? Because Big Red fans can do what they did regularly in Lawrence, Kan. – fill more seats than the home team. To commemorate that rare achievement, we showcase Nebraska tight end Cethan Carter (No. 11 above) to represent the Huskers, now 4-0 entering Saturday's Homecoming game against Illinois.
Counting this blog's lead photo at the top featuring tight end Cethan Carter, here are the N-Sider's other nine memorable moment choices for fans who visited Northwestern:
Chicago native Mikale Wilbon (No. 21 above) contributed 55 yards on six carries against Northwestern.
Tanner Farmer (63) and Sam Hahn (73) helped escort Tommy Armstrong Jr. (4) to 132 rushing yards.
Nebraska Head Coach Mike Riley applauded the stellar effort the Huskers showed against Northwestern.
Nathan Gerry (No. 25) and fellow safety Kieron Williams led the Blackshirts with eight tackles apiece.
Husker linebacker Chris Weber delivers a memorable postgame chinstrap moment to a lucky NU fan.
Defensive coordinator Mark Banker, Blackshirts and teammates celebrate a win and continue to move forward.
The Nebraska Alumni Association supported the Husker Sports Network's Friday night show in Chicago.
Saturday's biggest support group was Jordan Westerkamp's entourage, 200-plus strong at this tailgate.
