Huskers End Stay in Michigan

The Nebraska women's golf team closed the East & West Match Play Challenge with a 5-0 loss to the co-hosts from Michigan on Tuesday in Ann Arbor.

Michigan took seventh place by sweeping the Huskers in match play. Husker freshman Kate Smith suffered a loss at No. 1 to Michigan's Elodie Van Dievoet, 2UP, while NU senior Sarah Pravecek dropped her match with Kathy Lim, 4&3.

Nebraska freshman Claire Robertson lost to Michigan's Emily White 3&2, while Husker junior Emily Gillman fell to Grace Choi 1UP. NU freshman Annie Sritragul also dropped her match to Michigan's Megan Kim 1UP.

Nebraska junior Audrey Judd added a bright spot for the Huskers with win over Courtney Clark from UC Davis, 4&3, while competing as one of eight individuals in the tournament.

The co-hosts from Wisconsin won the team match play tournament with a win over Oregon, 3-2 on Tuesday. Ohio State added a third-place finish with a 4-1 win over Kentucky, while Penn State defeated UC Davis, 3-2, to take fifth.

Nebraska returns home this weekend (Sept. 25-27) to play host to the annual Chip-N Club Invitational at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. The three-day, 54-hole event begins with the first round on Sunday at 9 a.m. The 11-team field will return to the course for the second round on Monday at 9 a.m., before the tournament concludes with a shotgun start on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
