Six Huskers Earn NACGC/W Scholastic All-America Honors

Six members of the Nebraska women’s gymnastics team earned Scholastic All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) for their efforts in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year.

In addition, the Cornhuskers posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.4113, second highest among Big Ten women’s gymnastics programs.

To qualify for the NACGC/W Scholastic All-America award, student-athletes must carry a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the academic year. The Huskers who earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors include Hollie Blanske (Oak Grove, Minn.; Management and Marketing), Danielle Breen (Ames, Iowa; Actuarial Science), Sienna Crouse (Fargo, N.D.; Business Administration), Jennie Laeng (West Middlesex, Pa.; Psychology), Catelyn Orel (Blue Springs, Mo.; Advertising and Public Relations) and Megan Schweihofer (China, Mich.; Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science).

Blanske and Laeng were honored as NACGC/W Scholastic All-Americans for a third time, while Breen picked up her second award. Crouse, Orel and Schweihofer each earned the award for a first time.

Since the NACGC/W began the award in 1997, Nebraska gymnasts have earned a total of 97 Scholastic All-America awards.
