#RIP27: Husker Teammates Share Memories of Foltz

Husker teammates took to social media to pay respects to Nebraska punter Sam Foltz, who was killed in a car accident on Saturday night while attending a kicking camp near Waukesha, Wis. Sam was the 2015 Eddelman-Fields Big Ten Punter of the Year. He earned his degree in agronomy from Nebraska in May of 2016. A five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection, Sam was named to the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship teams earlier this year.

I've spent the last few hours trying to wrap my head around how such an amazing soul could possibly be taken away from this world so soon. Sam Foltz was a man that treated every single person he came across with love and respect. He inspired myself and several of my teammates to be better men. He was always the first to sacrifice his time, effort and energy to helping others. The overwhelming sadness we feel should be matched by the outpour of love and support we send to the Foltz family. I love you Foltzy, you are truly one of a kind and I will forever remember the best 4th down punter to do it. Watch out for us over these next years 2-7, the world definitely needs more like you. Rest easy brother. ✊🏾💯❤️
