Huskers Finish 15th at Chambers Bay

University Place, Wash. – The Nebraska men’s golf team posted 317 in the final round en route to a 15th-place finish at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational presented by OGIO at Chambers Bay on Tuesday.

The Huskers opened the tournament on Monday with rounds of 311 and 330 to finish the 54-hole event with a 958 total. Washington took home the team title by shooting 897. TCU (908) and Oregon State (916) rounded out the top three.

Justin Jennings led NU with a tie for 40th individually. Jennings carded 80 in the final round and finished the tournament with a 237 total over three rounds. He finished one stroke ahead of Michael Colgate, who tied for 46th. Colgate also managed an 80 on Tuesday en route to his 238 total.

Jackson Wendling posted 79 to tie for 59th. He ended the tournament with a score of 241, which was one stroke ahead of Jace Guthmiller. Guthmiller tied for 64th and fired the best Husker score of the day with 78.

Sean Song also competed in the NU lineup and tied for 87th. Song shot 80 on Tuesday en route to a 251 total. Dylan McCabe, playing as an individual outside of the NU lineup, shot 89 in the final round to tie for 91st.

The Huskers return to action at the Hawkeye Invitational, April 16-17, at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.
