Huskers Host Michigan and Michigan State

Lincoln, Ne. – The Nebraska women’s tennis team is back in action at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center for its final two matches of the regular season this wekend.

The Big Red will take time to honor the three talented seniors on their roster on Friday afternoon, as they host Senior Day against Michigan State. Friday's match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.  after the conclusion of a tennis tailgate to celebrate the end of regular season. The tailgate, beginning at 3 p.m. includes free food, games and prizes for participating fans.

Nebraska is 17-5 on the season and sits in eighth place with a 4-5 mark, while Michigan State comes into Friday's match with a 10-9 record and is tied for 10th with Purdue and Wisconsin.

Husker senior Maggy Lehmicke looks to build on her all-time career wins record, currently owning more than 100 combined victories in singles and doubles since her freshman season in 2012-13. This season, she is 13-7 at No. 1 singles for the Big Red. Lehmicke and fellow seniors Lauren Wagner and Mackenna Maddox-Herr will be honored on Friday. 

Admission for both of this weekend's matches at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center is free.

The Huskers will look to play spoiler in the Big Ten race on Sunday morning, as Nebraska will face No. 9 Michigan in the regular-sason finale. Dual action with the Wolverine’s begins with doubles action at 10 a.m. Michigan is a three-way tie with Ohio State and Northwestern at 7-0 in conference action. 

Sunday is also another special opportunity for fans, as the Husker tennis program celebrates Fan Appreciation Day with free breakfast for the first 100 fans.
