Nebraska set a school record with an attendance of 2,302...it marked the second crowd of 2,000 or more people in school history...Kaylan Jablonski struck out a season-high six batters...Jablonski also threw a season-high 7.0 innings...Mattie Fowler had Nebraska's lone RBI...she has an RBI in nine of her last 12 games and 13 of her last 17 games.

Lincoln, Neb. - No. 1 Michigan scored a pair of runs in its first and final at bat on Saturday to even its three-game series at Nebraska with a 4-1 victory over the Huskers in front of a school-record 2,302 fans at Bowlin Stadium.

After being shut out on Friday, Michigan jumped out to a 2-0 lead two batters into the game. Sierra Lawrence led off with a hard line drive up the middle that senior shortstop Alicia Armstrong was unable to snag. Sierra Romero then went the opposite way for a two-run homer.

Neither team got another runner to third base until the top of the fifth, when Lawrence led off with a double and Romero moved her to third with a sacrifice bunt. But Husker starter Kaylan Jablonski struck out the next two batters to escape the jam.

The Huskers got a runner to third with no outs in the bottom of the fifth. Sophomore Madi Unzicker worked a leadoff walk, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch. But Nebraska was unable to bring her home as a pair of strikeouts and a ground out ended the inning.

Nebraska had another chance in the top of the sixth inning when junior MJ Knighten led off with a double. Senior Alicia Armstrong then reached on an error to put Huskers at first and third. Michigan brought ace Megan Betsa into pitch, and the All-American promptly recorded a strikeout. But senior Mattie Fowler then grounded the first pitch she saw into left field for an RBI single. Trailing 2-1, the Huskers had runners at first and second with one out and second and third with two outs but failed to score.

Michigan then added two big insurance runs on a two-run home run from Lawrence in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh, Betsa retired the side in order to earn her second save of the season.

Jablonski (5-4) took the loss for Nebraska despite a fine effort in the circle. Jablonski threw her first seven-inning complete game of the season and struck out a season-high six batters. She allowed six hits, but two of them were two-run homers to Michigan All-Americans.

Sara Driesenga (14-0) earned the win for Michigan by allowing one run on only two hits in 5.0 innings. With the win, Michigan moved to 28-4 on the season and improved to 6-2 in league play.

With the loss, Nebraska saw its five game winning streak snapped. The Huskers fell to 25-13 on the season and 6-4 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska will aim for a series victory in the finale on Sunday at Noon. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
