Huskers Hit Their Stride in April

Last year, Nebraska turned its season around by going 12-3 in April. The strong month secured Nebraska's spot in the NCAA Tournament and helped the Huskers finish third in the regular-season Big Ten Conference standings and as the runner-up at the Big Ten Tournament. Nebraska is better positioned for a spot in the NCAA Tournament this season, as the Huskers are currently ranked 24th in the NCAA RPI. But over the last three years - when Nebraska has won two NCAA Regional titles, one Big Ten title and made one trip to the Women's College World Series - the Huskers have seemed to hit their stride in April. If that's the case again this season, it should be a fun ride for Husker fans.

Tailgate Set for Next Weekend

Nebraska has only played five home games this season, but that's about to change next week, when the Huskers host five games in five days at Bowlin Stadium. Nebraska hosts Iowa in a Wednesday doubleheader before welcoming No. 2 Michigan to Bowlin Stadium for a three-game weekend series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Games one and three of the series will air nationally on the Big Ten Network, but the biggest game is on Saturday, when the Huskers host their annual World's Largest Softball Tailgate. The completely free event includes free admission to the tailgate and the softball game, and the first 2,000 fans will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and Pepsi product. The tailgate, which begins at 10 a.m. and is set up in the parking lot behind the left field fence at Bowlin Stadium, includes fun activities for kids of all ages.

Milestone Watch

Rhonda Revelle has already won more games than any other coach - male or female - in the history of Nebraska Athletics. This weekend, she aims for her 900th win at Nebraska. With two wins this weekend, the Huskers would make Revelle the first Husker coach to win 900 games at Nebraska, and she would become the 12th active Division I coach to win 900 games at his or her current school.
