Urbana, Ill. - Illinois scored 10 runs over its final three at bats to rally for a 10-2, six-inning victory over the Nebraska softball team on Saturday and complete a doubleheader sweep of the Huskers.

Things started well enough, as the Huskers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Senior Kiki Stokes began the game with a double, but was still at second with two outs. Senior Mattie Fowler then scored Stokes with an RBI double.
The Huskers stretched their lead to 2-0 in the top of the third, but left the bases loaded. Stokes led off with a double and moved to third on a ground out. She was still at third with two outs, when she scored on an RBI single from senior Dawna Tyson.
Illinois then scored four times in the bottom of the fourth. The big blow in the inning was a go-ahead two-run homer from Ruby Rivera.
Back-to-back homers in the fifth pushed Illinois' lead to 6-2. Then in the sixth, Nebraska retired the first two hitters before Illinois scored four two-out runs to end the game early. Six of the Fighting Illini's 10 runs scored with two outs.
Junior Cassie McClure (11-5) took the loss for Nebraska, allowing nine runs on a career-high 13 hits in 5.2 innings. Sophomore Taylor Kadavy faced two batters in the sixth and allowed two hits and one run.
Offensively, Stokes was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, and she scored both of Nebraska's runs. Stokes was 4-for-5 in the doubleheader with two doubles, two walks and two hit-by-pitches. Fowler was 2-for-3 with an RBI, extending her career-long hitting streak to nine games.
