Huskers Return to ITA Rankings

The Nebraska men's tennis team returns has ridden a five-match winning streak into the ITA rankings, earning a No. 71 national ranking on Tuesday, March 22.

The Huskers, 10-4 overall, claimed their first ITA Top 75 ranking of the season after notching weekend sweeps of Northern Colorado and Southwest Baptist.

During Nebraska's current five-match winning streak, the Huskers have claimed victories over nationally ranked foes Iowa (56th) and Lamar (72nd) in this week's rankings.

Nebraska will face significant challenges in Big Ten play this week, as the Huskers travel to take on Minnesota in Minneapolis on Friday at 6 p.m. They return to compete against No. 37 Wisconsin at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Seniors Dusty Boyer and Marc Herrmann have led the Huskers in singles play throughout the year. Boyer, an All-Big Ten competitor who has played out of the top spot in the Nebraska lineup all season, owns an 11-2 singles record.

Herrmann owns Nebraska's best singles record with a 12-2 mark while playing out of the No. 2 position.

Dusty Boyer also has teamed with his brother Toby Boyer at Nebraska's top doubles spot. The duo has been ranked among the nation's top 80 this season. Toby Boyer has added an 11-2 mark of his own at the No. 3 singles position to solidify the Husker lineup.
