Nebraska used its 23rd different starting lineup in 23 games this season and its 23rd different batting order...Laura Barrow produced a season-high two RBIs in the win and also recorded her third multi-hit game of the year...Cassie McClure doubled and homered, marking her first game this season with multiple extra-base hits...McClure homered for the second straight game when she was in the starting lineup.

Fullerton, Calif. - Cassie McClure doubled, homered and tossed a complete game on Friday to lead the 23rd-ranked Nebraska softball team to a 6-1 victory over UNLV at the Easton Tournament in Fullerton, Calif. 

At the plate, McClure finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs while producing her first game this season with multiple extra-base hits. In the circle, the junior threw the second seven-inning complete game of her career and did not allow an earned run. McClure (9-2) scattered seven hits and struck out four.

Offensively, the Huskers totaled 11 hits, all in the final four innings. Seniors Kiki Stokes and Dawna Tyson and sophomore Laura Barrow joined McClure with two-hit days, while Barrow drove in a season-high two runs.

The Huskers fell behind for the 10th time in 11 games when UNLV plated an unearned run in the top of the fourth. The leadoff batter reached on an error before consecutive sacrifice bunts moved her to third base. Chrissi Omalza then delivered a two-out pinch-hit, RBI single to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead.

The Huskers answered back with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Freshman Alyvia Simmons lined the first pitch of the inning to left for a leadoff double. Senior Mattie Fowler followed with a single up the middle and she alertly took second when UNLV left the base uncovered. Barrow then lined an RBI single to center and the ball got past the center fielder, allowing junior pinch runner Lotte Sjulin to score and give Nebraska a 2-1 lead. Stokes then singled and Knighten walked to load the bases with one out for senior Alicia Armstrong, who lined a ball right at the right fielder, who then made a perfect throw home to get Barrow, who had tagged up and was attempting to score.

Nebraska continued to hit the ball well in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two more runs. McClure began the inning with a double before Tyson followed with a single. Fowler then put down a successful squeeze bunt to score sophomore pinch runner Taylor Otte and give the Huskers a 3-1 lead. With two outs, Barrow delivered another clutch hit with an RBI single through the left side that scored junior pinch runner Rachel Arthur.

In the top of the sixth, the first two UNLV hitters singled and the Rebels had the bases loaded with only one out. But McClure struck out the side, including back-to-back strikeouts with the bases full.

The Huskers put up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Armstrong reached on a one-out walk before McClure blasted a two-run homer to left to close out the scoring.

McClure then worked around a one-out single in a scoreless seventh to move Nebraska to 17-6 on the season. UNLV, which defeated Arkansas before playing Nebraska, fell to 15-11 with the loss. Alyssa Batastini (4-3) took the loss for the Rebels, allowing two runs (one earned) in 3.1 innings.

Nebraska returns to action tomorrow at the Easton Tournament with a pair of games against New Mexico and Arkansas.
