Lincoln- The Nebraska women’s tennis team is back in action at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 12. Saturday’s matches will begin with Big Ten Conference play against Rutgers at 10 a.m. and continue with a dual vs. Omaha at 3 p.m. Admission to both matches is free.
The Huskers will enter the weekend hoping to advance their 12-2 record after splitting a pair of matches last week against conference rivals Iowa and Purdue. Vasanti Shinde, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Week, and doubles partner Mary Hanna look to continue their hot play, as the duo is 11-0 in doubles action.
The Scarlet Knights are currently 5-5 on the season following a 6-1 win over Longwood to put an end to a three-match losing streak. Omaha is 5-6 this season after defeating Southeastern Missouri. The Mavericks also put an end to a three-match losing streak.
