Huskers Fire 4,668 at NCAA Qualifiers

Murray, Ky. --- The No. 8 Nebraska rifle team fired a 4,668 at the NCAA Qualifiers on Sunday, finishing with the second-highest score at the site. 

Denise Martin led the way for the Huskers in smallbore, earning 584 for her performance. Rachel Martin pitched in a 582, while Nina Radulovic added a 579. Magdalena Mical scored 574 while Jaycee Carter finished with a 571. The Huskers' scored a total of 2,319 in smallbore.   In the second discipline, R. Martin paved the way for the team, firing a 590. Carter and Radulovic provided support with scores of 587. Alexandrea Lorentz notched a 585, while D. Martin scored 584. The team ended with an air rifle score of 2,349. 

Nebraska was joined at its qualifying site by three other teams. Murray State finished with the highest score (4,715). Memphis placed third with a score of 4,653, while the University of Tennessee at Martin came in fourth with 4,567.    Scores from the qualifying match, along with the top three scores posted during the regular season at three different locations will be averaged to decide the final qualifying score. All teams will be ranked using that score. The top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championships on March 11 in Akron, Ohio. Final rankings will be announced later in the week.
