NU Finishes Regular Season with Victory Over Navy

Annapolis, Md. --- The No. 8 Nebraska rifle had an impressive finish to its regular season on Sunday, including a number of personal-best scores and a team victory over Navy. The Huskers defeated the Midshipmen by a score of 4,680 - 4,623.

Rachel Martin fired a career-best score of 590 to lead the Huskers in smallbore. The junior had helped from Denise Martin who tallied a 581 and Nina Radulovic who finished with a 578. Jaycee Carter and Alexandrea Lorentz each pitched in scores of 569. Nebraska ended with a team score of 2,318. 

Daniel Jonas was Navy's top scorer in smallbore, scoring a 577. He helped the team total 2,277 in the first discipline.  

In air rifle, D. Martin paved the way for Nebraska with a personal-best score of 594. Jaycee Carter pitched in a 593 and Radulovic added 589. As a team, the Huskers finished with a score of 2,362. 

Navy finished with an air rifle score of 2,346. The Midshipmen were led by Jodi Cull-Host's score of 593.  

With the win over Navy, Nebraska finishes the regular season 8-6, including winning the last three matches over Ohio State, Ole Miss and Navy.  

The Huskers begin post-season competition on Feb. 21. The team travels to Murray, Ky., for the NCAA Qualifiers, set to begin at 9 a.m.
