Lincoln, Neb. – No. 11 Nebraska (11-5, 5-4 Big Ten) won nine matches against Northwestern en route to a 39-6 win during the Tumble N Rumble event at the Devaney Center on Friday night. Before the dual, the Huskers honored five wrestlers as part of Senior Night in front of the crowd of 3,152 fans.
Pins from No. 10 Tim Lambert (125) and No. 9 TJ Dudley (184) highlighted the night. Lambert pinned Garrison White in the opening bout of the dual in 1:27. Dudley pinned Regis Durbin in the eighth match of the night in 2:17. In six home matches this season, Dudley is 6-0 with three falls and one technical fall.
No. 19 Tyler Berger (157) and No. 14 Austin Wilson (165) also added bonus points, while Colton McCrystal (149) won by forfeit. Berger earned a technical fall against Anthony Petrone and Wilson notched a major decision over Luke Norland.
In the second match of the night, No. 12 Eric Montoya (133) won a 4-1 decision over No. 20 Dominick Malone. At 174 pounds, 17th-ranked Micah Barnes defeated Mitch Sliga by a 9-6 decision.
No. 14 Aaron Studebaker (197) and No. 18 Collin Jensen (HWT) also notched decisions for the Huskers in the last two matches of the dual.
Nebraska’s lone loss came at 141 pounds when No. 19 Anthony Abidin was pinned by Jameson Oster in 3:54.
The Huskers return to action on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. (CT) at the Devaney Center for the NWCA National Duals. NU’s opponent will be determined on Sunday.
