Huskers Drop Match to No. 2 Murray State

Murray, Ky. --- Despite a valiant effort, the No. 8 Nebraska rifle team fell to Murray State on Saturday by a score of 4,677 - 4,691.

Nebraska trailed second-ranked Murray State by only four points after smallbore, with a score of 2,324. Denise Martin and Rachel Martin paced the Huskers with career-high scores of 589. Nina Radulovic added support with her score of 577. Barbara Schlapfer and Tessa Howald led Murray State with scores of 585.  As a team, the Racers finished with a score of 2,328.

In air rifle, the Huskers looked to gain ground. R. Martin fired a score of 594, leading the team. Fellow junior Jaycee Carter pitched in with a 591. D. Martin, Jordan Miller and Radulovic all added scores of 588. The team finished with an air rifle score of 2,353. For Murray State, Alathea Sellars tallied a 594, leading the team. The Racers' total team air rifle score was 2,363. 

Nebraska continues a long series of road matches on Jan. 31 when the team travels to Columbus, Ohio, to battle Ohio State. The match is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
