Husker Divers Begin Competition in Texas

College Station, Texas- The Nebraska diving team began competition at the Art Adamson Invite Thursday afternoon. The meet kicked off with the three-meter competition, with Francesca Giganti leading the way for the Huskers earning a spot in the finals.

Giganti finished in 6th-place with a final round score of 262.40. Giganti posted a score of 255.80 good enough for a seventh-place finish in the preliminary round.

Katrina Voge just missed out on a spot in the finals, finishing in ninth-place posting a score of 250.55 during the preliminary round Thursday afternoon.  Anna Filipcic finished in 15th-place posting a score of 235.50. Kara Cottrell also competed for Nebraska, finishing in 23rd with an average round score of 196.35.

Nebraska’s divers will be back in action tomorrow at noon as the one-meter dive prelims begin at the Art Adamson Invite. Finals for the women’s one-meter dive will follow immediately after the prelims. Nebraska’s swimmers will begin competition at the Big Challenge Friday at 10 a.m. in Topeka, Kan.
