Huskers Host Akron on Senior Day

Lincoln, Neb. --- The No. 11 Nebraska rifle team competes in its final home match of the season on Nov. 21 as it welcomes No. 14 Akron to the NU Rifle Range.

On Nov. 14, the Huskers competed against the then top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats at the NU Rifle Range.  NU fell to Kentucky by a score of 4,645-4,676.

The Huskers are 6-0 overall against Akron, dating back to February 2001. Most recently, NU topped Akron at the 2015 GARC Championships by a score of 4,664-4,608.

Saturday’s match marks senior day for Denise Martin, Magdalena Mical, Alexandrea Lorentz and Marissa Major. In celebration, the team will host another free fan brunch beginning at 10 a.m.  The brunch will be catered by Hy-Vee and will be served in the basement of the Military and Naval Science Building. 

Saturday’s match will begin at 9 a.m. It was previously announced as starting at 8 a.m. Nebraska has also added a match on Jan. 16 against Murray State and Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss.
