Bethesda, Md. - The Nebraska men’s golf team is in ninth place after one round at the Terrapin Invitational. NU carded a first round 306 after the delay due to frost.
Leading the Big Red at Woodmont Country Club’s par-72, 7,250-yard configuration was Justin Jennings. The junior from Amarillo, Texas fired four birdies en route to a tie for 21st at 75 strokes. Mike Colgate also carded four birdies on Monday. The junior is tied for 27th after firing a first round 76. Colgate finished one stroke ahead of Jackson Wendling. Wendling is currently tied for 33rd.
Freshman Sean Song carded a first round 78 on Monday. The Omaha native is tied for 43rd. Song finished the day one stroke ahead of Clayton Peterson. Peterson, playing as an individual, is tied for 46th at 79 strokes. Senior Aaron Wong is tied for 61st at 84 strokes.
Host and Big Ten foe Maryland leads the team competition after posting 292. The Huskers will play the second and final round on Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT.
