The Nebraska men’s golf team opens its 2015-16 campaign on Tuesday for a one-day tournament at the Colorado-Ballyneal Challenge at Ballyneal Golf Club in Holyoke, Colo.
Wyoming and host Colorado will accompany the Huskers. The tournament will feature 24 players from the three schools, each playing 36 holes. NU will bring juniors Michael Colgate, Justin Jennings, freshmen Sean Song, Joel Sneed, and senior Aaron Wong to the lineup as well as Jace Guthmiller, Clayton Peterson and Jackson Wendling playing as individuals. Live scoring for the event will be provided by Golfstat.com.
Junior Michael Colgate will represent the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Colgate won the Nebraska Match Play Championship in June before coming to Nebraska from UNK. Fellow junior Justin Jennings will also make the trip along with 2015 Nebraska Junior PGA Champion Sean Song and Joel Sneed. Aaron Wong will also represent NU as the only senior on the team. The Huskers will continue their fall campaign on September 13-14 when they travel to Normal, Ill., for the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate.
