Season tickets for Nebraska's third season of women's basketball at Pinnacle Bank Arena went on sale Tuesday (Sept. 1) on Huskers.com.
Husker fans can join in the excitement of Nebraska women's basketball all season long by purchasing their 20-game season ticket packages now. Reserved season tickets for 18 regular-season home games, including nine Big Ten Conference games, and two preseason exhibition games, are just $180, a savings of 10 percent off the single-game reserved ticket price.
General admission season tickets (including lower bowl seating behind the baskets in sections 101 and 112) are just $90 for adults and $40 for youth and seniors. Children 6 and under are admitted free in general admission seating.
Exhibition play tips off for Nebraska on Sunday, Nov. 1, when they take on Nebraska-Kearney. Tip-off is expected to be 2 p.m. After a second exhibition game against Winona State on Sunday, Nov. 8, the Huskers begin regular-season action on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Overall, Nebraska's schedule features marquee matchups with NC State, Creighton and Arkansas State in non-conference play. In Big Ten Conference action, 2015 NCAA Tournament qualifiers Iowa, Rutgers and Northwestern will venture to Pinnacle Bank Arena, along with perennial Big Ten powers Penn State, Purdue and Michigan State. Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin also will make trips to Lincoln this season.
A new-look Nebraska team that features senior All-America point guard Rachel Theriot takes aim at its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth straight 20-win season in 2015-16. Transfer Kyndal Clark, who was the 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, will join Anya Kalenta and current Husker volleyball player Alicia Ostrander in Nebraska's 2015-16 senior class.
Juniors Allie Havers and Esther Ramacieri join a talented sophomore class led by Natalie Romeo, Jasmine Cincore and Emily Wood.
The Husker freshman class adds a strong Nebraska flavor with Jess Shepard (Fremont) and Maddie Simon (Lincoln). Shepard, a 6-4 forward who was a first-team Parade High School All-American and the No. 1 post recruit in the nation, was a two-time Nebraska Gatorade High School Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014. Simon, a 6-2 wing player, added a state player-of-the-year award in 2015, while claiming state championships both on the court and on the track last season at Lincoln Pius X.
Rachel Blackburn, a 6-3 forward from Leavenworth, Kan., rounds out an impressive freshman class after proving herself as one of Nebraska's top performers during the team's 12-day trip to Australia in August. Redshirt freshman forward Darrien Washington also had a strong showing in Australia and is poised to contribute inside for one of the tallest Nebraska teams in school history.
The 2015-16 Huskers, under the direction of two-time Big Ten Coach-of-the-Year Connie Yori, are sure to play in front of one of the best crowds in women's college basketball throughout the season. In their first two years in Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Huskers have averaged more than 6,000 fans per game.
