Valentine, Neb. - The Nebraska men’s golf team is in 12th place at the Jackrabbit Invitational after firing a second round 297 heading into Monday’s final round.
Leading NU on Sunday was freshman Jace Guthmiller. The Yankton, S.D., native fired a one-under 71 in the second round to give him a 146 stroke-total and place him in a tie for 20th place. Guthmilller started the day on the tenth hole and finished the back nine one-over before going 2-under par with four birdies on the front nine.
Sean Song and Mike Colgate both posted 74s to move a spot up from Saturday on the leaderboard. Song earned four birdies to tie for 38th at 152 strokes. Colgate is currently tied for 44th.
Junior Justin Jennings is tied for 52nd after carding 78. Jennings also carded 78 on Saturday to give him a 156 stroke-total after 36 holes. Freshman Jackson Wendling is tied for 70th after shooting a second round 79.
South Florida leads the team competition after a second round 275. The Huskers continue the final round of the Jackrabbit on Monday. The tournament will begin with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Live stats will be available at golfstat.com.
