Huskers Earn Six Victories in Kansas City

Kansas City, Mo. - Lisa Andersson picked up her fourth win of the Missouri Invitational, teaming up with Maggy Lehmicke for a victory at No. 1 doubles for the Nebraska women's tennis team against Penn State on Saturday morning at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo.

The 6-3 victory by Andersson (Varberg, Sweden) and Lehmicke (Kirkland, Wash.) over PSU's Samantha Tutleman and Daria Sapogova was one of two doubles wins on the day for the Huskers. 

The other victory came with Katerina Matysova (Erding, Germany) and Mary Hanna (Saline, Mich.), rolling to a 6-3 win over Missouri's Brittany Lashway and Cassidy Spearman at No. 2. It was Hanna's third win of the weekend and Matysova's second for the Huskers.

Mackenna Maddox-Herr (McKinney, Texas) added some highlights of her own for the Huskers on Saturday by posting a pair of singles victories.Maddox-Herr defeated Missouri’s Tuner Yates 6-1 and Penn State’s Hannah Kratky 6-0, 6-1.

Elizabeth Gould added a fifth win for the Huskers on the day. The freshman notched a 6-2 win over Penn State's Kratky.

The Huskers will close competition on Sunday at the Missouri Invitational by taking on Louisville in doubles competition beginning at 9 a.m. Nebraska will also face Penn State at 10 a.m. Live stats of the action will be available on Huskers.com.
