Huskers Open Fall at Missouri Invitational

The Nebraska women’s tennis team opens its fall invitational season this weekend when the Huskers travel to the Missouri Invitational at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City. Admission to the event is free.

The Huskers begin play by taking on Louisville in doubles action on Friday, Sept. 18, at 9 a.m. Nebraska's doubles teams will face Penn State at 10 a.m., before closing the day with singles competition against the hosts from Missouri at 1 p.m.

The Big Red will be back at it bright and early on Saturday, facing Penn State in more doubles matches at 9 a.m., while taking on Missouri in doubles at 10 a.m. Saturday concludes with singles action against Louisville at 1 p.m.

The Huskers close their three-day stay in Kansas City with more doubles play against Louisville on Sunday at 9 a.m., and singles matches against Penn State at 10 a.m.

Although the Huskers will be going head-to-head against Missouri, Louisville and Penn State, the tournament will not be scored in a dual-format.

Seniors Maggy Lehmicke, Mackenna Maddox-Herr and Lauren Wagner will be leaders for the Huskers on and off the court this season, while juniors Lisa Andersson and Mary Hanna will add experience for a team that features four freshmen (Paula Del Cueto, Elizabeth Gould, Sydney Harlow, Vasanti Shinde) and a pair of sophomores (Katerina Matysova, Spurti Shivalingaiah).
