Huskers Kick Off Fall Season with Sunday Scrimmage

The Nebraska softball team kicks off its fall season this Sunday with a Red-White intrasquad scrimmage at 4 p.m. at the Doris Bair Complex. Attendance is free for the scrimmage and the Doris Bair Complex is located off 48th St., approximately one mile north of Superior.

The Red-White scrimmage marks the beginning of the Huskers' fall exhibition season, as Nebraska began practice last week. The Huskers will play eight exhibition games this fall at Bowlin Stadium, with free admission for all games.

Nebraska returns all but two starters from last year's 35-23 squad that finished third in the Big Ten Conference, was the runner up at the Big Ten Tournament and qualified for an NCAA Regional. The Huskers will be led by a five-player senior class who were all members of Nebraska's 2013 Women's College World Series team. The Huskers also welcome freshmen Brianna Cassidy and Alyvia Simmons to the team, along with sophomore transfer Taylor Kadavy.
