Huskers Takeover Big Ten Media Day

Lincoln - Friday was a busy day for Head Coach Mike Riley and Husker football players Tommy Armstrong Jr., Nate Gerry and Jordan Westerkamp, as they took part in Big Ten Media Day at McCormick Place in Chicago. 

With nearly 500 media members in attendance, the Husker players and coaches met with local, regional and national media throughout the day, including 90 minutes with ESPN, Fox, BTN and CBS as well as podium and round table media sessions. The players and coaches also made appearances on BTN during the day, as Riley's remarks at the opening media session were carried as well as well as an appearance on BTN Live.

The moring started at 7:45 a.m, with Coach Riley doing a commercial read for USA Football and went until after 5:45 p.m. as he finished the event with with a photo shoot for Big Ten network. Players also visited Radio Row and did a Q and A with the Facebook news desk on site in Chicago. In addition, Tommy Armstrong was one of two Big Ten quarterbacks to complete passes to fans as part of the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon.

Fans were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at Friday's action, the Huskers players ran NU's social media accounts on the day.  Nate Gerry ran the Snapchat site (HuskerFBNation), Tommy Armstrong Jr. provided a look at the day's events on Instragram (HuskerFBNation) while Jordan Westerkamp handled the Husker football twitter account (@HuskerFBNation).
