The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team saw three of its members named to the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award list, announced by the conference Wednesday. Juniors Ryan Irick and Ethan Lottman and senior Josh Ungar each captured honors for the 2014-15 season.
Irick, a nutrition science major, picked up his third career Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award to lead the team, while Lottman (art) and Ungar (nutrition science) each captured their second conference accolades for the 2014-15 season.
In all, 62 Nebraska student-athletes were named to the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar list amongst the 781 total across the Big Ten. The list includes students from every institution and 38 different sports who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year.
