Indianapolis - Jordan Chael managed a 76 to finish in a tie for 32nd to lead the Nebraska women's golf team in the final round of the Big Ten Championship at The Fort Golf Resort on Sunday.
Chael, a sophomore from Overland Park, Kan., produced a three-round total of 226 (75-75-76), while the Huskers finished their season in 13th place in the 14-team field at the conference tournament. NU settled for a final-round 310 on the par 72, 6,221-yard layout of The Fort. The Huskers finished with a three-round score of 917 (306-301-310), while Northwestern (284-295-284-863) and Ohio State (281-292-290-863) shared the Big Ten title.
Cassidy Stelzmiller, Emily Gillman and Sarah Pravecek each shot rounds of 78 to join Chael in producing Nebraska's team score in the six-count-four format on Sunday. Cassie Deeg (80) and Audrey Judd (81) rounded out the Husker contingent.
Deeg, a junior from Hugo, Minn., who led the Huskers through the first two rounds of the tournament, settled for a tie for 41st (74-74-80-228). Stelzmiller, a junior from Placerville, Calif., tied for 57th (76-78-78-232) as NU's No. 3 finisher at the tournament.
Gillman tied for 67th (237), while fellow freshman Judd added a tie for 70th (238). Pravecek, a sophomore from Omaha, finished 76th (241).
Northwestern's Sarah Cho captured individual medalist honors with a three-round score of 213 (72-70-71), while Maryland's Julie Vongphoumy (73-68-73-214) and Ohio State's Katja Pogacar (69-73-72-214) tied for second.
