Newburgh, Ind. – The Nebraska men’s golf team carded a final round 314 en route to a 13th place finish at the Big Ten Championships.
Calvin Freeman led the Huskers on Sunday by firing a 2-over par 74 at the Victoria National Golf Club’s par-72, 7,242-yard layout. Freeman’s best round of the championship on Sunday led the senior to a 46th place finish.
Senior Ross Dickson carded an 86 on Sunday to finish tied for 54th place. Dickson’s 310-stroke championship total was three strokes ahead of sophomore Justin Jennings. Jennings fired a 78 on Sunday to finish tied for 59th place.
Josh Reinertson carded a final round 80 on Sunday. The senior finished the championship in 65th place with a 319-stroke total. Reinertson finished one stroke ahead of Mike Siwa. Siwa, a senior from Omaha, Neb., shot a final round 82, giving him a 66th place finish.
As a team, the Huskers shot 86-over par 1,238 over 72 holes. Nebraska posted scores of 306, 310, and 308 in the first three rounds. Illinois captured the championship with a 14-under par 1,138-stroke total.
