Huskers Sign Top World-Ranked Junior

The Nebraska women’s tennis team announced that Vasanti Shinde has committed to join the Huskers in August of 2015.  

Shinde notched the International World Rankings as high as No. 154 and has proven her tremendous abilities in doubles competition. The 18-year old out of Pune, India will add a plethora of talent to NU’s doubles and singles lineups.

The left-handed commit recently competed in the National Games of Kerala, India where she received a bronze medal.

“We feel incredibly fortunate to have Vasanti joining our Husker family,” said Huskers head coach Scott Jacobson. “We are not only getting one of the best junior players in the world, but also an amazing young person!”
