No. 74 Nebraska Competes Against Wisconsin Badgers

Madison, Wis- The Nebraska men's tennis team competed on Friday against the Wisconsin Badgers where they fell short in play resulting in a 5-2 mark. The Huskers continue on in their season with a 7-6 mark and 0-1 in Big Ten play. 

The Wisconsin Badgers began the meet with an advantage, winning two of the three doubles matches and earning the doubles point overall. At No. 3 Marc Herrmann and Andrew Dzulynsky took on Lamar Remy and John Zordani where they finished 8-4. Following, Linus Erhart and Scott Elsass saw a win against Jakhongir Jalalov and Alexander Kokorev going 8-4, leaving the result of the No. 1 posotion to determine the outcome of the doubles point. Dusty Boyer and Bradford Zitsch played at No. 1 against No. 51 Josef Dodridge and Jose Carranza where they unfortunately fell short resulting in a 8-3 mark. 

In singles play, Bradford Zitsch started the Huskers off on the right foot at No. 6 where he went 6-3, 6-1 over his opponent Darius Mackenzie.

At No. 1 Dusty Boyer competed against a talented Josef Dodridge where Dodridge got the best of Boyer, going 6-1, 6-2 in competitive competition.

Linus Erhart saw a win at No. 3 putting the overall score at 2-2. Erhart competed against Lamar Remy where they went 4-6 in the first set followed by two great sets resulting in 6-3, 6-0. 

Wisconsin snatched another win at No. 2 where Marc Herrmann fought against a tough Jakhongir Jalalov where Herrmann won the first set 3-6 but came up short in the following two sets going 6-1, 6-0.

At No. 5 Andrew Dzulynsky fought in a tough match against Michael Sinha where they went 6-4, 6-4.

Finishing up the meet at No. 4 Chris Hobgarski competed against the Badger's Tomas Pitra where they battled it out going 6-1 in the first set followed by 4-6 in the second. In the third and final set Hobgarski came close but was defeated by Pitra 6-4.
