No. 61 Huskers Defeat Bluejays 7-0

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska men's tennis team saw its second sweep of the day in competition against the Creighton Bluejays going 7-0. The No. 61 Huskers finish the day with a 5-4 mark on the season. 

The No. 61 Huskers started the evening off strong, winning all of the doubles matches and taking the point before heading into singles. Mark Herrmann and Andrew Dzulynsky started the winning streak at No. 3 going 8-3 against the Bluejay's Quinn Dippel and Nick Thompson almost instantly follwed by the No. 2 team of Scott Elsass and Bradford Zitsch. Elsass and Zitsch took on Alex Koca and August Nysted, putting the hammer down going 8-1. At No. 3, Dusty Boyer and Linus Erhart fought against the duo of Jake Norman and Elliot Baker where they went 8-4.

With the doubles point secured, the winning continued at No. 2 singles where Linus Erhart went 6-4, 6-1 against Quinn Dippel. 

At No. 3, Marc Herrmann played Alex Koca in a tight first set of 7-5 follwed by another win in the second set going 6-2 putting the Huskers at 3-0 with a great lead.

Dusty Boyer competed at the No. 1 spot where he matched up with Jake Norman going 6-3 followed by a tough second set but ultimately emerging victorious going 7-6(5) securing the win of the overall match by putting the team at 4-0.

At No. 4, Chris Hobgarski played a nice match against Harrison Lang where he went 6-4, 6-4 followed by Vasileios Stavropoulos. Stavropoulos competed in his second close match of the day, starting off by going 4-6 in the first set, followed by a win in the second of 6-3. In the third set he proved to be the better competition by taking the win 1-0(6) at No. 6

Finishing the night off strong, Andrew Dzulynsky brought home the final win at No. 5 against Elliot Baker where he went 7-6, 6-3 bringing the Huskers to their 7-0 total.
