No. 66 Huskers Looking Ahead for Saturday

Eugene, Ore. - The Nebraska men's tennis team suffered a tough loss against the Oregon Ducks on Friday going 7-0 against the highly ranked team. The No. 66 Huskers continue their season 2-4 and look ahead to Saturday where they will compete against Santa Clara. 

The competition kicked off with doubles where the Duck's Kevin Farin and Jayson Amos came out on top over the Husker's Scott Elsass and Bradford Zitsch 6-1 at No. 1. Following, Dusty Boyer and Linus Erhart competed against Daan Maasland and Joey Swaysland where they came up short in a 6-3 finish at the No. 2 position. 

After the setback of losing the doubles point, Chris Hobgarski, at No. 5, played the strong competitor Simon Stevens where they finished 6-0, 6-1. 

Nebraska's Vasileios Satvropoulos suffered his first loss of the season at No. 6 position going 6-1, 6-2 against the Duck's Cormac Clissold. 

Marc Herrmann battled in another set of difficult matches against Kevin Farin where they fought it out going 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 2 position. 

With NU trailing 4-0, Andrew Dzulynsky came close in his matches, going 7-5 in a close first set and then falling just short in the second at 6-4 against Jayson Amos at No. 4.

Dusty Boyer competed against Daan Maasland. Boyer started with a rough loss in the first match finishing 6-0 but came extremely close in the second with a final score of 7-6 at No. 1. 

Finishing the competition at No. 3, Linus Erhart suffered another loss in very tight play against Daniel Sardu. Starting off strong in the first match, 0-Erhart went 6-7 followed by two losses of 6-2 and a close 10-8. 

The Husker's continue their season on Saturday, Feb. 21 against Santa Clara in Eugene, Oregon. The team is looking ahead after this tough loss to a very skilled and competitive team but has high hopes for their next compeition.
