The Huskers went 5-1 in singles play, with the upperclassmen showing their leadership. At the No. 1 spot, Lehmicke battled through three sets to defeat Pitman, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Zgierska out played Sung at the No. 2 spot with a pair of 6-2 sets. Hanna beat Gabriella Spindler, 6-1, 6-1 to secure another NU team point. Shivalingaiah bested Army's Elle Taylor, 6-4, 6-1 while Maddox battled Porter but came up short, 7-6, 7-5.

"It was a good day," said head coach Scott Jacobson. "The thing that was impressive is how we came out in the doubles for our second match. We played relaxed and with a tremendous amount of confidence. I am really proud of the efforts. It's a long days for the girls when we play two matches in one day. Proud of the attitudes and the efforts. We got better today."

The Huskers will take on Drake Feb. 6 at the Lincoln Racquet Club. Go Big Red!
