The seventh-ranked Nebraska rifle team defeated Akron on Sunday by a score of 4,660-4,627.
The Huskers destroyed the Zips in smallbore defeating Akron by a score of 2,301-2,286. Lauren Phillips led the way for Nebraska with a 582, along with Rachel Martin who fired a 578.
NU also topped Akron in air rifle, thanks to Rachel Martin’s 596 and Jaycee Carter’s 590. The team finished with an overall air rifle score of 2,359.
This puts Nebraska at 7-4 overall for the season. The Huskers have a bye week before welcoming TCU and Navy to the NU Rifle Range on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 respectively. Both matches are set to begin at 8 am.
