Kraeutner, Flynn Named to Academic All-District Team

Junior Katie Kraeutner and sophomore Caroline Flynn earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for District 7 when the teams were announced on Thursday, Oct. 30.

Kraeutner, a forward from North Saanich, B.C., is a nutrition, exercise and health major at Nebraska, and holds a 3.94 grade-point average. She was one of three forwards to earn first-team accolades from CoSIDA. Kraeutner was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2014, and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2013. She is also a four-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Flynn, a midfielder from Lincoln, Neb., was named to the second team, and holds a 3.98 GPA in communication studies at Nebraska. She was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2014, Academic All-Big Ten Team member in 2013 and a five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member.

On the pitch, Kraeutner has started in 15 of her 16 appearances this season, and has two goals and two assists. Flynn has started all 18 games, and has three goals and three assists.
