The No. 8 Nebraska rifle team defeated No. 17 NC State on Saturday in South Carolina by a score of 4,653-4,595.
Sophomore Rachel Martin led the way for the Huskers, firing top scores in both events. In smallbore, she tallied a 582 and in air rifle she finished with a 592. Nebraska ended with a team smallbore score of 2,300 and a team air rifle score of 2,353.
NC State’s Lucas Kozeniesky was the team’s top performer. Kozeniesky finished with a 578 in smallbore and a 587 in air rifle. The Wolfpack finished with a 2,273 in smallbore and a 2,322 in air rifle.
This was the first of two matches for the Huskers this weekend. On Sunday the Huskers take on Army in South Carolina. The match is set to begin at 8 a.m.
