Enunwa Selected by New York Jets

Quincy Enunwa was the third Husker selected in the 2014 NFL Draft, as the New York Jets selected the receiver in the sixth round on Saturday afternoon.

The 6-2, 225-pound Enunwa was the 209th overall selection in the draft. He joins teammates Stanley Jean-Baptiste and Spencer Long in being selected in this year's draft. Jean-Baptiste was the 58th overall selection in the second round by New Orleans, while Long was taken 78th overall in the third round by Washington.

The draft selection capped a memorable day for Enunwa, who picked up his degree earlier on Saturday at UNL's spring commencement.

Enunwa had a standout career at Nebraska, earning four letters while playing in 50 career games. A 2013 team captain, he capped his Husker career with a record-breaking senior season. Enunwa caught a school-record 12 touchdown passes. He broke the touchdown record in style, hauling in a Nebraska record 99-yard touchdown pass to provide the winning touchdown in the Huskers' Gator Bowl victory over Georgia.

Overall, Enunwa caught 51 passes for a team-leading 753 yards in 2013. He finished his career with 115 receptions for 1,526 yards and 15 touchdowns. His 115 career receptions are sixth in Nebraska history, while his receiving yardage total ranks seventh.

Enunwa is the first Husker receiver to be selected in the NFL Draft since Niles Paul was selected by the Washington Redskins in 2011. Enunwa is just the second NU receiver taken in the draft since 2003. He is the first Nebraska player selected by the New York Jets since Matt Slauson in 2009.

The three draft selections this weekend gives Nebraska 350 all-time NFL Draft picks. Nebraska has become just the fifth school with 350 all-time draft picks, joining USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma. Nebraska has had at least three players selected in 44 of the last 45 NFL Drafts
