Lincoln – The Nebraska wrestling team won the Life Skills Award of Excellence for the second consecutive year during the Student-Athlete Recognition Banquet at the Embassy Suites in downtown Lincoln.
"I'm very proud of this team for their continued drive and passion to positively impact the youth in our community,” Head Coach Mark Manning said. “The effort and energy these young men put into the Life Skills events was impressive, and fruitful as far as the inner development and lessons our young men benefited from. We will continue to develop leadership from our team so that they can continue to prepare themselves to serve others throughout their lifetime."
Well over 700 people attended the 24th annual banquet, which also featured the announcement of other prestigious Nebraska team awards. The women’s swimming and diving team took home the other Life Skills Award.
