Someone asked me what being a part of Nebraska has meant to me. After walking off the court for the last time, being in the locker room for the time, it means so many different things.
When you play for Nebraska, you're expected to exude excellence in all you do. You're expected to work harder than everyone else. You're expected to know that nothing will ever be given to you. You're expected to be disciplined and have good character day in and day out.
Being a part of this basketball program has showed me that I can do anything I set my mind to. I didn't end my career at the top of any record books. I didn't score more than 10 points in any game. I never played more than 25 minutes in a game. But I never gave up. I made the most of my minutes. I was selfless, and I battled every injury that came my way. That is why I am a better person – because of this program.
So many players can leave a program and say that they became a far better player, but not many can leave and say they are better women. So many players can leave a program and say they are ready for the WNBA, but not many can say they are ready for the real world.
The ball has officially stopped rolling for me, and yet I'm not scared because this program has prepared me for anything that comes my way. I have truly been blessed, and I thank everyone who played a role in me being at Nebraska and growing at Nebraska.
Go Big Red!
