Huskers Conclude Final Practice in Lincoln

Lincoln - The Nebraska football team wrapped up its final practice in Lincoln on Thursday morning with a two-hour session indoors at the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers will now have a few days off, before reuniting on Wednesday, Dec. 26 to head to Orlando, Fla., to continue preparations for the Capital One Bowl against Georgia on New Year's Day.

Head Coach Bo Pelini met with the media following the morning practice and discussed how important it is that the players have a chance to spend time with their families during the holiday season.

"I believe if the bowl schedule allows it, you should be with your family," Pelini said. "We recruit kids from a long way away and I tell parents that if the bowl schedule allows it, they will see their son around Christmas."

Pelini also talked about how well the Huskers are treated in Orlando.

"It's a first-class bowl game," Pelini said. "They treated us great, the bowl committee, everyone. It's a business trip, but we also get some time to see what Orlando has to offer, and there's a lot to do."
