Huskers Conclude Their ITA Action In Tulsa

Tulsa, Okla. -- After a well-played weekend at the ITA/USTA Women's Central Region Tennis Championships, the Huskers action halts on Sunday.

Senior Stefanie Weinstein, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles main draw on three solid victories, met the end of her reign in Tulsa in a tough match. No. 16 seeded Weinstein was rolled by No. 2 seeded Tulsa's Sam Vickers 0-6, 0-6.

This was the final match of the tournament for the Huskers who had dropped to only one player remaining in action after some hard-fought defeats on Friday and Saturday.

All of the players on the Huskers roster saw action this weekend and have gained valuable fall experience in the build up to their spring season.

The Huskers are done with fall competitions and will resume their season play after the conclusion of winter break. Their first scheduled match is on Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m. against Eastern Michigan at the Nebraska Tennis Center.
